Disappearing
Bug Series
I came across an article in National Geographic about the disappearance of vast numbers of insects from the earth. Losing these bugs is an ecological and planetary nightmare. I started looking into the threatened and endangered bugs and found some of them to be incredibly beautiful, as well as being essential to the well being of the planet. I decided to do a series based on some of these lovely creatures. I am not trying to exactly reproduce the look of the insect but only to be inspired by the incredible colors and patterns of these disappearing gems. My hope is that my work will get others interested in seeing and learning more about the actual insects.
